February 9, 2024 - The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR District Health Unit) is sharing important information about a recent event in the City of Belleville that caused an alarming increase in drug poisonings.
Generally, the Health Unit issues a Boil Water Advisory when there is known contamination of a water supply OR when there is a risk of contamination to the water supply. The Boil Water Advisory helps to protect the health of the community that the water system serves. It is a recommendation for residents to only drink tap water if it has been boiled for at least one minute.
