Position: Casual Contract, Tobacco Student Test Shopper (4)
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPRDHU) is recruiting for temporary, contract tobacco student test shoppers in our Health Protection Division, Environmental Health Department, based in our Port Hope, Lindsay and Haliburton offices.
Position Summary:
The Tobacco Student Test Shopper is accountable to Health Protection Division Management for assisting the Tobacco Control Officers (TCO) during tobacco vendor enforcement checks/inspections in accordance with the Tobacco, Vapour and Smoke Protocol (as current).
The successful candidate will have:
1. Education
- Enrolled in secondary education.
2. Other
- Proof of immunizations required by HKPRDHU.
- Age as determined by the Ministry of Health Smoke Free Ontario guidelines (15-17 years of age).
- At least one type of government issued photo-identification for use during court appearances (e.g., Driver’s License, Health Card, etc.).
- Parental consent and agreement to return to HKPRDHU for court appearances as specified by written agreement with HKPRDHU.
- Able to work after school and/or in the evening as requested.
- Able to maintain confidentiality, as specified by written agreement with HKPRDHU.
- Demonstrated evidence of reliability and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to observe and recall visual/factual information accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to take effective, accurate, concise notes.
